About trmn
What is trmn?
trmn (pronounced "terminal") is a directory of CLI tools, TUI apps, and terminal emulators. The name? Every good domain with "terminal" in it was taken. trmn.sh was close enough and the .sh went along with the whole SSH concept.
I got tired of trying to remember which "awesome" list or Reddit thread I found a tool on, so I'm cataloging them all and adding a favorites system. Problem solved.
Why terminal-first?
Honestly? Because it seemed cool. The idea of SSHing into a tool directory from your terminal just felt right, and we figured other like-minded people would find it useful — or at the very least, neat.
ssh trmn.sh gives you the full experience — search, browse, view details — without opening a browser. The web and TUI share the same API, same data, same search. Use whichever you want.
Built by Astero Engineering
Astero Engineering is a software engineering company that builds whatever sounds interesting. Custom websites, full-stack applications, hardware projects — we cast a wide net and have a good time doing it.
trmn is one of those "this would be cool to build" projects that turned into something people actually use. We're not a big company with a roadmap full of OKRs. We just like making things.
