Privacy Policy

trmn.sh has no visitor accounts. You can browse, search, submit a tool, or request one without signing up or telling us who you are. This policy explains what we do collect and why.

Information We Collect

• -Submissions and requests — When you submit a tool we store the name, URL, description, and suggested category you enter. When you request a tool we store the title, description, and category. You may optionally provide a contact email so we can follow up about your submission or request. It is visible only to administrators and is not published or used for marketing. We do not ask for your name or store your IP address with submissions or requests.
• -Usage analytics — We use PostHog to record page views, clicks, searches (including the search text), outbound link clicks, copied install commands, and which AI assistant referred you, if any. We use this to understand how the site is used and to rank trending tools.
• -Session recordings — PostHog records how pages are used (mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and page changes) so we can find and fix usability problems. Text typed into form fields is masked. Recordings are kept for 30 days.
• -Diagnostics — PostHog also collects error reports, browser console messages, and page performance measurements so we can fix bugs and keep the site fast.
• -Device and location — Analytics include your browser, operating system, screen size, referring page, and an approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address.
• -Server logs — Our hosting providers log requests, including IP addresses, for security and debugging.

How We Use Information

• -To run the site, review submissions and tool requests, and publish tools
• -To calculate trending tools from views and engagement
• -To find bugs, fix performance problems, and improve the site
• -To prevent spam and abuse. Your IP address is used, in memory only, to rate limit anonymous submissions and requests and to show how many people are online right now; it is not saved for either.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers below, as needed to run the site. We may publish aggregated statistics that do not identify anyone.

Third-Party Services

• -PostHog — Product analytics, session recordings, and error tracking. Requests are sent through our own domain (trmn.sh/ingest).
• -Vercel — Hosts the website and provides cookieless page view analytics. Keeps server logs, including IP addresses.
• -Fly.io — Hosts our API. Keeps request logs, including IP addresses.
• -Supabase — Database hosting. Stores the tool catalog, submissions, and tool requests.
• -Cloudflare — Stores and serves logos, screenshots, and demo videos.
• -GitHub — Source of public repository data (stars, READMEs, releases) for listed tools, and the sign-in provider for site administrators.

Cookies & Storage

• -Cookies — A security cookie (CSRF token) protects form submissions. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• -Local storage — PostHog stores an anonymous visitor ID. The site also saves your compare list and recent command palette items in your browser; these never leave your device.
• -Session storage — A flag noting whether you arrived from an AI assistant, so it is only counted once per visit.

Your Choices

You can block or clear local storage and cookies in your browser, or use a content blocker, and the site will still work. Because we have no accounts, we keep no profile about you. To ask about or remove something you submitted, or to ask us to delete analytics data, email us at the address below.

Data Retention

Session recordings are deleted after 30 days. Other analytics data is kept for up to 12 months. Submissions and tool requests are kept until they are reviewed, and approved tools stay listed until they are removed.
