flyctl
Command-line interface for fly.io that authenticates accounts, lists apps, and checks app status; also invoked as fly.
flyctl is the official command-line interface for fly.io. It is used to sign in to a Fly account and manage apps running on the platform from the terminal. Most installations also alias the binary to fly, which is planned to become the default command name, so flyctl and fly can be used interchangeably in commands.
The README documents a basic workflow: fly auth login to authenticate, fly apps list to list your apps, and fly status -a {app-name} to view an app's status. For app targeting, flyctl reads the app name from a fly.toml file in the current directory. It operates on that app unless you override it with the -a flag or another app name setting on the command line.
It installs through Homebrew on macOS, Linux, and WSL, through an install script for macOS, Linux, and WSL, or through a PowerShell script on Windows. The shell install script can fetch the latest release, the latest pre-release, or a specific version. Prebuilt binaries are available from GitHub Releases. The tool is aimed at developers and operators who deploy and manage applications on fly.io.
