Kopia

Cross-platform backup tool that creates encrypted, compressed, deduplicated snapshots and stores them on cloud, network, or local storage. Includes CLI and GUI.

Kopia is an open-source backup and restore tool that creates encrypted snapshots of selected files and directories and saves them to a storage location you choose. It does not image the whole machine; you pick which files and directories to back up and restore. It is available as both a command-line tool and a graphical application.

Snapshots are compressed and deduplicated, and encryption is user-controlled and end-to-end. The documented features also include error correction. Supported storage backends include Amazon S3 and S3-compatible services, Azure Blob Storage, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud Storage, WebDAV, SFTP, local disks, and network-attached storage or servers. Rclone is supported experimentally, with Kopia running Rclone for you. It has been tested with Dropbox, OneDrive, and Google Drive. You can also run your own Kopia Repository Server.

You provision and pay for the storage yourself. You can use several storage locations for different repositories, and multiple machines can back up to the same location. It is aimed at individual users and administrators who want self-managed backups on Windows, macOS, or Linux, and who want to choose their own storage provider.
