tpm
Tmux Plugin Manager: installs, updates, and removes tmux plugins from GitHub or other git repositories, configured via ~/.tmux.conf.
tpm (Tmux Plugin Manager) is a plugin manager for tmux. It clones plugins from git repositories into ~/.tmux/plugins/ and sources them when tmux loads its configuration. It requires tmux 1.9 or higher, git, and bash, and is documented as tested on Linux, OSX, and Cygwin.
Plugins are declared in ~/.tmux.conf (or $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/tmux/tmux.conf) with lines such as set -g @plugin 'github_username/plugin_name'. Branches can be pinned with plugin_name#branch, and full git URLs such as git@github.com:user/plugin or Bitbucket repositories are also accepted. tpm itself is initialized with run '~/.tmux/plugins/tpm/tpm' at the bottom of the config file.
Management happens through tmux key bindings: prefix + I installs new plugins and refreshes the tmux environment, prefix + U updates plugins, and prefix + alt + u removes plugins no longer listed in the config. Additional docs cover creating your own plugin, managing plugins from the command line, changing the install directory, and automating tpm installation on a new machine. The tool is aimed at tmux users who want to keep their plugins declared in their dotfiles. The README also points to tpack, a drop-in replacement with a TUI, auto-updates, and a plugin browser.
